- Rice - 1 cup
- Water - 2 ½ cups
- Salt to taste - ¼ tsp
Steps for preparing Plain Rice
- Wash and clean rice in cold water three or four times.
- In a vessel pour 2 ½ cups of water, add rice and salt. Let it boil without covering the vessel for the first 10 to 15 minutes. Then cover and cook till the rice is ready.
- When the rice is cooked, turn off the stove.
- Drain the excess water from the rice and transfer rice into a serving vessel.
- Serve hot along with ghee or any desired curry.
