Plain RiceIngredients for preparing Plain Rice

  • Rice  -   1  cup
  • Water   -  2 ½    cups
  • Salt to taste  -   ¼    tsp

Steps for preparing Plain Rice

  1. Wash and clean rice in cold water three or four times.
  2. In a vessel pour 2 ½ cups of water, add rice and salt. Let it boil without covering the vessel for the first 10 to 15 minutes. Then cover and cook till the rice is ready.
  3. When the rice is cooked, turn off the stove.
  4. Drain the excess water from the rice and transfer rice into a serving vessel.
  5. Serve hot along with ghee or any desired curry.
